Chen Pei Yi (1984- present, Taiwanese)

Chen-Pei-Yi with her catChen Pei Yi (1984- present, Taiwanese) is a contemporary Taiwanese artist who concentrates on depicting cats in normal every day poses in a Japanese style. Her paintings are highly detailed with each cat posed on an intricately patterned carpet. Chen captures the expressions and demeanor of the cats perfectly, perhaps owing to the fact that she owns several.

Chen Pei Yi has become a very popular artist in Taiwan and her paintings are sold internationally on online sites. She primarily shows her work in Taiwan, including at the Art Taipei and Art Formosa annual art fairs.
