Timothy Adam Matthews (1980-present, British)

Timothy Adam Matthews cat artist photoTimothy Adam Matthews (1980-present, British) is a contemporary artist that paints mostly cats, capturing their innocent curiosity and playfulness. His cat subjects are incorporated into lovely interiors that are filled with color and can almost be seen as surreal. Matthews says, “ I reinterpret photos into semi-realistic vignettes that depict scenes to capture (cat world sic) and their interaction with our world. I enjoy inviting the viewer into these illusory happenings.”

Timothy Adam Matthews studied film and TV, design and animation at North East Wales Institute where he graduated with honors in 2003. Since beginning his career as a painter, he has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions in the UK.

Matthew’s art can be purchased by visiting his website, Facebook page, or Saatchi Art page.

  1. Punkin or Tamara says

I liked Sevetal pf his pieces. The ones with the koi fish on the wall, the white and bkack cat eyeing the goldfish bowl on the stack of books, 2 cats and yellow fish on wall, 4 cats in museum. Very imaginative.

  2. Warren Wilson says

The pictures of the cats’ looking up at paintings on the wall are terrific. especially the first one with the old bewhiskered gentleman.
