Maria Chepeleva (1985 to present, Russian)

Maria Chepeleva, cat artistMaria Chepeleva (1985 to present, Russian) is a contemporary artist who adeptly depicts the feline’s illusiveness in an impressionistic and romantic style. Many of her cats are captured sitting in windows in zen-like content. Her painting Cat on a Radiator captures a cat typically finding the warmest place to lie down. Her realistic paintings exude a certain quiet emotional quality.

Maria Chepeleva graduated from the Crimean Art College in 2006 and went on to study at the Kiev Academy of Arts and Architecture. Later she studied at the Kharkov State Academy of Design and Fine Arts and graduated in 2012.

Chepeleva is currently a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and of the Union of Artists of Russia. Her works can be found in private collections in Russia, Ukraine, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ukraine (Kiev) and in the International Fund “Cultural Heritage” St. Petersburg, Russia.
