Eldar Zakirov (1983 – present, Uzbek)

Eldar Zakirov cats in artEldar Zakirov (1983- present, Uzbek) was born in Tashkent and graduated from Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction. Zakirov is known for his surrealistic style and monumental depictions of historic cats. Many will see some resemblance to the cats of Susan Herbert. However, Zakirov is a digital artist and illustrator.  Due to his keen attention to detail, each cat’s attire is researched for its authenticity. Zakirov believes cats are the best animals to wear these wonderful royal outfits. These cats were included in a magazine for the Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg.

In 2006, he was awarded the Golden Brush Award in L. Ron Hubbard’s Illustrators of the Future Contest. His artwork is also featured in art books and magazines.
