BRITISH LONGHAIR

British Longhair catHISTORY

The British Longhair originated by breeding British Shorthair cats with longer haired Persians and Turkish Angoras in Great Britain in the 20th century. With this breeding some semi-longhaired cats were produced and were initially unwanted. However, after sometime a breeding program was started that produced the longhaired cats and led to their being recognized as an official breed by the TICA in 2009.
